Virtual teachers adapt to many roles, forcing them to into such molds as managerial, technical, social, and pedagogical.  Online teachers who are successful know how to provide formative feedback, offer technical guidance, foster community among online learners, and encourage communication that encourages learners to construct knowledge together.  This course will formally introduce you to the roles of a virtual education teacher and provide you with the opportunity to experience each.  Using research-based articles and selected readings, discussions, collaborative projects, and other interactive experiences, you will have multiple opportunities to acquire and master online facilitation skills.  To synthesize all your learning, you will create a case study that is based on the experiences of a hypothetical virtual instructor as your final project.
